A power generation system is disclosed having several embodiments such as in one embodiment, the power generation system includes a fuel source to provide fuel, a turbogenerator (200), coupled to the fuel source, to generate AC power, and a power controller (201) electrically coupled to the turbogenerator (200); the power controller (201) includes a first power converter (202) to convert the AC power to the DC power on a DC bus (204), and a second power converter (206) to convert the DC power on the DC bus (204) to an output power to supply a load (208); the power controller (201) to regulate the fuel to the turbogenerator (200), independent of a DC voltage on the DC bus (204); a capacitor (470), such as an electrochemical capacitor or a hybrid capacitor, is coupled to the DC bus (204) to source instantaneous power to and sink instantaneous power from the DC bus (204), due to load changes, to stabilize the DC voltage on the DC bus (204). |
