METHODS AND MATERIALS RELATING TO NEUROPILIN-LIKE POLYPEPTIDES AND POLYNUCLEOTIDES

The invention provides novel polynucleotides and polypeptides encoded by such polynucleotides and mutants or variants thereof that correspond to novel human neuropilin-like polypeptides including Neuropilin-Hyl and Neuropilin-Hy2. Polynucleotide of the invention comprises of nucleic acid sequence isolated from cDNA library prepared from human fetal liver-spleen (Columbia University) mRNA (SEQ ID NO:1) for Neuropilin-Hyl. Polynucleotide of the invention also comprises of nucleic acid sequence isolated from cDNA library prepared from human bone marrow (Clontech) mRNA (SEQ ID NO: 5) for Neuropilin-Hy2. Other aspects of the invention include vectors containing processes for producing novel human neuropilin-like polypeptides, and antibodies specific for such polypeptides.
