Multifunctional system (A) for diagnosis of periodontal disease, is new. Multifunctional system (A) for diagnosis of periodontal disease comprises: (i) a porous and wettable carrier with two separate detection zones (DZ); (ii) a code carrier with an arrangement of reference zones corresponding to DZ for determining, by comparison, color values, and (iii) a key for detecting presence, or degree, of disease from a comparison of color values. DZ provide separate colorimetric detection and/or quantification of erythrocytes and leukocytes in the saliva.
