A novel phthalocyanine compound having a specific structure; and an ink, an ink for ink-jet recording, an ink-jet recording method and a method for improving the preservability of the formed image, which uses the compound. The novel phthalocyanine compound exhibits satisfactory fastness property to light, heat, moisture and an active gas in the circumstance, and thus an image having improved fastness to a light and an ozone gas in the circumstance can be formed by using an ink, in particular an ink for ink-jet recording, containing said phthalocyanine compound.
