Known cooking devices comprise a cooking device muffle (1) and a cooking chamber (2) that is inter alia delimited by the side walls (3) and a rear wall (4) and that can be closed by a cooking device door (39). On the bottom wall, said cooking device muffle (1) has a retainer recess (25) against which a thermal radiation-permeable cover (7) rests, covering a radiant heat element arrangement (13) that provides the cooking device with heat from below. In order to seal the bottom wall of the cooking device muffle effectively from liquids, the cover (7) is configured with an edge (11) that is raised at least on the side walls (3) and the rear wall (4) of the cooking device muffle (1).
