The extrusion (4), e.g. of cellular EPDM rubber, is attached to a body trim strip (1), and has its inner surface made with a series of parallel grooves (7) designed to reflect sound waves which pass through the wall of the extrusion and damp them by multiple inner reflections. The grooves are disposed round the entire inner surface of the extrusion, and are shaped so that their sides are pushed together when the extrusion is squeezed by the closing door (8). The density of the material used for the extrusion is 0.7, and its wall thickness is 1.8mm. |
