A front side glass substrate for display tube, wherein a plurality of grooves (2) having a generally V-shaped same cross section and a generally flat head part are formed in one surface of a glass substrate (1) parallel with each other at specified intervals, and fluorescent body layers (3) are coated on the head parts and inner wall surfaces of the plurality of grooves (2), whereby the coated amount of fluorescent body in the grooves can be increased, the light beam of the fluorescent body emitted from the side faces of the grooves with increased amount of fluorescent body coated thereon can be radiated efficiently to a front side, and the brightness and luminous efficiency of the glass substrate can be increased. |
