Archiving system (10) for archiving data media, especially audio, video, multimedia or software data media (16) such as CDs, DVDs, tapes, etc. Accordingly the system has a multitude of storage places (24) in which data media can be stored. The system has unit (48) for inputting data w.r.t. the contents of the archiving places. A controller controls displays (26, 42) relating to the contents of the storage places. An independent claim is made for a system for archiving data media.
