PURPOSE:To make an environment measuring instrument compact and to simplify the operation by allowing a central unit to collect an environment measuring data through a data transmission line of a building managing equipment. CONSTITUTION:An environment measuring instrument 4 and a transmission controller 5 are carried to visit a room to be measured, and a connection plug 5f of the transmission controller 5 is plugged into a connection receptacle 6 installed in the room. The transmission controller 5 starts the polling to the environment measuring instrument 4 and the reply to the polling from the central unit 1 at this point of time. When the environment measuring instrument 4 receives the polling sent in light from the transmission controller 5, an LED 4h representing the possibility of the execution of the communication with the transmission controller 5 is lighted. In depressing a start switch 4g, the measuring data is fetched from a measuring input section 4e, after a required measuring processing is applied, the result is stored in a RAM 4c. After the measuring data is stored in a RAM 5c of the transmission controller 5 at first according to the predetermined procedure, the result is sent to the central unit 1.
