The invention relates to a gaming system for a number of users, for each of which user identification data is provided. At least one decentralised station (40) is provided, for which station identification data is provided and in which the user can obtain a product or service balance. Depending upon the amount of said balance a game usage is prepared for the user, in the form of game usage data, combined with station identification data and user identification data, together forming a data set for transmission to a central computer (20). The central computer (20) is connected to the at least one decentralised station (40) and a terminal (60), by means of which the user submits a gaming request to the central computer (20). The central computer (20) checks release conditions for the gaming process, controls the above and where appropriate delivers winnings data, which are processed in the decentralised station (40) and credited to the user.
