<p>The invention relates to a supporting device for a double ladder comprising a stabilising support (1) which can be telescopic and is held in place in an articulated manner on the cross-beam of a ladder, in addition to comprising restricted guidance means (2, 3, 4) connecting said cross-beam of the ladder (2, 3, 4) and used to hold the stabilising support in place or to guide it in a restricted manner and spread it out in an oblique manner, in addition to fixing it without touching the floor in a desired upright position.
