PURPOSE:To facilitate programming by providing a memory area where bit information and word information are stored and handling both information in the same manner without differing them. CONSTITUTION:Word bits (for example, eight bits) are reserved for each of all addresses in a memory area 1. All bits are the processing object in case of word handling, and one specific bit is processed in case of bit handling. When data is communicated between the memory area 1 and external input/ output, word information is handled with one address in case of word information, and only one specific bit (for example, the 7th bit) is used to handle one-bit information with one address in case of bit information. Thus, programming is performed without paying attention to duplication of bits to shorten the programming time.
