The invention relates to a method for assembling a shelter which is intended in particular to shelter persons in case of an emergency. Said shelter is provided in a kit comprising at least one package (1) consisting of numerous shelter elements constructed on a transport pallet (2b). Said method is characterised in that, after a preliminary unpacking stage (1), at least one pallet (2b) is placed more or less flat on the ground to form at least one floor element for the shelter thereby creating a crawl space, and the shelter elements are subsequently assembled on said floor.
