<p>The fastening for a windscreen wiper arm (10) on a drive motor shaft (12) consists of a base (24) that fits against a shoulder (16) on the shaft, and a flexible hub (26) that fits into a matching cavity in the arm with a degree of play to allow adjustment prior to tightening a locknut (28). The facing thrust surfaces of the hub and arm have irregularities which create a friction force between them that opposes any angular displacement of the arm before the locknut is tightened. The irregularities can be e.g. in the form of grooves or inclined facets, made by electro-erosion, moulding, machining or etching.</p> |
