PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition prepared by using phytosterol which has excellent skin irritation reducing effects and is appliable to skin cosmetics is provided. Therefore, the composition is easy to formulate and has an effect on reducing skin irritation. CONSTITUTION: This cosmetic composition contains 0.01 to 20% by weight of phytosterol, based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition, wherein the phytosterol is one or two or more mixtures selected from the group consisting of beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, campesterol, brassicasterol and avenasterol.
