摘要 A system and method for passively aligning one or more optical devices with a corresponding number or optical lenses in an accurate and efficient manner is described. In one aspect, an optoelectronic device 10 includes an optical device system 40, an optical lens system 50 and a plurality of solder bumps 66 disposed therebetween. The optical device system 40 includes an optical device substrate 42 supporting one or more optical devices 44 and a solderable metallization pattern 46, 48 having a spatial arrangement with respect to the one or more optical devices 44. The optical lens system 50 includes one or more optical lenses 60, 62 and a device bonding surface 54 supporting a solderable metallization pattern 56, 58. The plurality of solder bumps 66 bond the optical device substrate 40 to the device bonding surface 54 with one or more optical devices 44 aligned with the one or more optical lenses 60, 62. In another aspect (Fig. 4 and 5) the optical lens system 50 includes a spacer substrate 80 defining one or more apertures 82 therethrough.
