PURPOSE: An auxiliary filter apparatus of a vacuum cleaner is provided to switch selectively air intake into a dust collecting barrel or an auxiliary dust collecting barrel of a body by installing separately the auxiliary dust collecting barrel from the dust collecting barrel contained at the body. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary dust-collecting barrel(22) is installed at one side of an intake port of a vacuum cleaner. An intake opening is formed at one side of a circumference surface of the auxiliary dust-collecting barrel. Air absorbed from a bottom of an intake portion(20) is absorbed into the auxiliary dust-collecting barrel through the intake opening. A dust collecting barrel cover(24) including a cover hole is coupled at the auxiliary dust-collecting barrel. The auxiliary dust-collecting barrel communicates with a housing by the intake opening. A filter(28) is supported and installed at an inside of the auxiliary dust-collecting barrel by a filter supporter(26). The filter passes only air after filtering a foreign material such as a dust from the absorbed air. A switching knob(50) is installed at one side of the intake portion for switching selectively a flowing of air into the dust collecting barrel or the auxiliary dust-collecting barrel.
