PURPOSE: An inner shield for flat cathode ray tube is provided to remove a distortion phenomenon on a screen by improving a structure of the inner shield. CONSTITUTION: An inner shield(8) has a thin rectangular shape. The inner shield(8) includes a fixing portion fixed to a rail and an opening portion opened to an electron gun. A long side of the opening portion has a linear part(9), a main curve part(10), and a sub-curve part. The linear part(9) is formed on both ends of the long side. The main curve part(10) is formed on a center of the long side. The sub-curve part is used for connecting the linear part(9) with the main curve part(10). The linear part(9) is extended from both ends of the long side to the center of the long side. The main curve part(10) is formed from the center of the long side of the opening portion to an inside of the inner shield(8).
