PURPOSE: To provide a novel portable instrument having an intermediate character of a measuring instrument and a game device. CONSTITUTION: This portable instrument internally stores a circuit in a casing 10, and is formed by integrally installing an input key 20, an ultraviolet ray receiving port 30, and a display 40 in this easing 10. An ultraviolet ray sensor is arranged inside the ultraviolet ray receiving port 30. This portable device has a means for accepting characteristic data on a characteristic of sunburn of the skin of a user from the input key 20, accepting measuring data on an ultraviolet ray quantity from the ultraviolet ray sensor, anticipating a sunburn state of the skin of the user from these data, and forming image data for displaying an image on prediction of the sunburn state of the skin of the user. The image on the basis of the image data formed by this means is displayed on the display 40 so that the user can confirm ones's own skin state.
