PURPOSE:To effectively recover an Mn mineral in the form of a magnetically- unattracted substance, by subjecting an Mn-containing iron ore to high magnetic separation to remove a gangue mineral and then by subjecting iron content in a magnetically attracted substance to low magnetic separation. CONSTITUTION:An Mn-containing iron ore is crushed, and the crushed substance is treated by means of high magnetic separator of >=5,000 Gauss magnetic flux density so as to recover the gangue mineral by separation. The magnetically attracted substance is dispersed into water, and then ferrous salt and alkali such as NaOH, etc., are added to the above, which is aged in the form of an alkaline dispersed solution to form the iron ore into iron ferrite. Subsequently, an aged matter containing the above iron ferrite is treated by means of a low magnetic separator of <=5,000 Gauss, so that Mn mineral can be recovered in the form of rougher tailings. In this way, the Mn mineral can be efficiently recovered by easy operations. |
