PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to improve luminous efficiency by enlarging the width of an electrode for long pass discharge. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel(50) has a couple of sustain electrode line, the first sustain electrode group(S'y,Sy), the second sustain electrode group(S'z,Sz), and address electrode lines(A1,A2,A3,Am-1,Am). Discharge cells are formed on crossing portions among the first sustain electrode group(S'y,Sy), the second sustain electrode group(S'z,Sz), and the address electrode lines(A1,A2,A3,Am-1,Am). Independent discharge spaces are formed in the discharge cells(21), respectively. A barrier rib(36) is formed in parallel to the address electrode lines(A1,A2,A3,Am-1,Am) in order to exclude optical interference between the discharge cells(21). The width of outer electrodes(S'y,S'z) of the first and the second sustain electrode groups(S'y,Sy,S'z,Sz) is wider than the width of inner electrodes(Sy,Sz) of the first and the second sustain electrode groups(S'y,Sy,S'z,Sz). |
