The invention provides an expandable stent assembly, particularly to be placed into a body duct which is accessible from one side, and comprising a tubular expandable semi-finished part provided around an expanding- or releasing element, said semi-finished part being at the end, opposite the inserting end, delimited by an abutment which is preformed or which is in the process of being formed, said abutment merging into a part which cooperates with an expanding element therein having, in the expanded state, a configuration diverging in the direction of the inserting end. Thus the stent is, after positioning, anchored safely, cannot shift and keeps the duct open so that during a long period a treatment with radiation is possible. |
