COMPUTER SYSTEM AND METHOD EMPLOYING ACPI CAPABLE OF CONVERTING INTO SLIP MODE WHEN INNER TEMPERATURE EXCEEDS PREDETERMINED TEMPERATURE

PURPOSE: A computer system and a method employing ACPI(Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) are provided to recover exactly the data stored in a hard disk by an operating system when the inner temperature exceeds the predetermined temperature. CONSTITUTION: A temperature sensor perceives the inner temperature of a computer system(S110) and checks whether the perceived temperature exceeds the predetermined temperature(S120). If the perceived temperature is higher than the predetermined temperature, the temperature sensor outputs a warning signal(S130) into a bridge controller. The bridge controller generates a system management interrupt in response to the warning signal(S140). A system management interrupt handler of BIOS outputs a power control signal in response to the system management interrupt(S150). A power management processor generates a system controller interrupt in response to the power control signal(S160). The OS controls the computer system to be converted into the slip mode in response to the system controller interrupt(S170).
