PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire chain capable of quick locking without causing failure at the time of fitting work. SOLUTION: The tire chain is provided with a chain 8 with openings, a wire or the like 3 and a spring device 4. The inside of the chain coming into contact with the ground has the openings, the wire or the like 3 is passed through the openings, and the wire or the like 3 is pulled for locking the inside and the outside without the turning of the tire. Fitting work is performed in the following way: A tire chain body 13 is applied over the tire, the wire 3 is stretched and a hook 11 is engaged at a ring 12. The wire 3 is pulled for locking a hook 5 at a ring 6. After a vehicle is run for a short time and stopped, a hook 9 is locked at a ring 10, and a hook 2 is locked at a ring 7 with the spring of the spring device 4 kept ineffective.
