PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording sheet having a favorable dimensional stability. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording sheet, which is produced by providing an ink accepting layer on a base material, the base material includes 5 to 20 wt.% of powder starch having an average particle diameter of 3 to 10 μm by fiber component under the condition that the base material of the recording sheet is so heat-treated as to set 50% or more and below 95% of the percentage of diameters of remaining particles of the powder starch including in the base material.
