PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermal recording material which is highly resistance to chemicals and free from the release of a coating layer when soaked in water and also is highly water-resistant and easily treated in a maceration step of a used paper regeneration process. SOLUTION: In the thermal recording material comprising an undercoat layer composed mainly of an integrating agent and a filler and a thermal color developing layer composed mainly of a leuco dye, a developer and the integrating agent, sequentially laminated on a support, the developer contained in the thermal color developing layer has a degree of dissolution of 0.1 g/100 g or less at 25 deg.C to a dioctyl phthalate and a degree of dissolution of 0.05 g/100 g or less at 25 deg.C to water. In addition, a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble polymer compound is used as the integrating agent of the thermal color developing layer and/or the undercoat layer. |
