PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium to be recorded by ink-jet recording, which has a high light resistance, a high glossiness, a high absorbency, a high print lustrous feeling and excellent image coloring properties, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The medium to be recorded by ink-jet recording is produced by providing an undercoating layer including a salt of alkaline earth metals and an acrylic resin on a support and, in addition, coating an ink accepting coating liquid including inorganic ultrafine particles on the undercoating layer. The acrylic resin is preferably an emulsion. The salt of alkaline earth metals is a calcium carbonate or a magnesium carbonate and its particle shape is preferably like a sea urchin. More preferably, the inorganic ultrafine particles are amorphous synthetic silica by the gas phase method or an alumina compound. Further, the ink accepting layer is provided after the coating and then hot calendering of the undercoating layer. |
