PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase safety of a dishwasher. SOLUTION: At one section of the bottom wall 23 of a washing chamber, a water reservoir section 24 which is lower by one step is formed. Then, water is circulated to a water storage tank through the water reservoir section 24. A sheath heater 15 for heating water is provided in the water reservoir section 24. Then, the upper surface of the water reservoir section 24 is covered with a heater cover 27 comprising a metal plate on which numerous water passing holes are drilled. Thus, even if a user puts his hand in the washing chamber before the heater 15 is cooled, the hand is prevented from directly touching the heater 15. Also, even if tableware made of a resin falls from a tableware basket in the washing chamber, the tableware do not touch the heater 15, and they can be prevented from melting by heat.
