METHOD, APPARATUS AND PROGRAM FOR EVALUATING CELL PROLIFERATION POTENCY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, an apparatus and a program for evaluating cell proliferation potency by observing the form of individual anchorage dependent cell in non-assault and non-destruction state to easily and surely grasp the proliferation potency of the cell population as a whole. SOLUTION: The method, apparatus and program for the evaluation of the proliferation potency of cell are useful for the evaluation of the proliferation potency of a cell population in the case of a single layer culture of an anchorage dependent cell in a culture vessel by using the observation result of the individual cells cultured in the culture vessel. Preferred observation results of individual cell are, e.g. the extension rate showing the change of the projection area Sa of individual cell with time in the cell anchorage stage 21, the number of contacting cells of individual cell in the cell proliferation stage 23 and the projection area Sa' of individual cell in the cell proliferation stage 23.
