PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydrating agent and a method being capable of effectively dehydrating organic sludge with simple facilities at low cost, and meanwhile being capable of deodorizing a treating process and treated matter. SOLUTION: The method for dehydrating the organic sludge wherein the organic sludge is coagulated by adding a synthetic fiber and a coagulant and thereafter it is dehydrated and the method for dehydrating the organic sludge wherein the organic sludge is mixed with a synthetic fiber impregnated with a deodorant in advance and thereafter is coagulated by adding a coagulant thereto, and then is dehydrated, are provided. The synthetic fiber is usable which is spun form regenerated plastic waste and the deodorant can be added before or after adding the synthetic fiber.
