PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for inspecting a cutting tool with an edge width of 0.05-0.5 mm. SOLUTION: This inspection device 10 is formed by a microscope 30 incorporating a zoom mechanism 31 with a magnifying power of over 300 and comprising a CCD camera 32, a microscope support member 40 for supporting the microscope 30, a processing unit 35 for processing electric information of the CCD camera 32 and converting it into image information, a flat display 50 displaying graphically the image from the processing unit 35 and having a flat display screen 51, and a transparent gauge plate 60 detachably stuck to the display screen 51. Accordingly the cutting tool with the edge with of 0.05-0.5 mm can be inspected and an image of the cutting tool to be observed can be displayed on the flat display for being seen by plural persons at the same time, and thereby necessary techniques such as how to look at or grind the cutting tool can be efficiently transmitted if one is an instructor and the rest are learners.
