PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance spot welding method for a resin covered steel sheet capable of elongate the lifetime of electrodes. SOLUTION: In conducting the resistance spot welding a resin covered steel sheet covering a resin at least on one side of a galvanized steel sheet as a steel sheet to be welded, a clearance between sheet faces of 1-4 times the steel sheet thickness (in the case of different sheet thicknesses, the thickness of the steel sheet of thinner one) is provided previously on the predetermined welding part of the steel sheet to be welded, thereafter at least one electrode of the electrodes in contact with the steel sheet to be welded is pressed to the predetermined welding part, using an electrode whose radius of curvature of the tip is made 50 mm or less, and current carrying is made.
