PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drill - chisel hammer saving a space. SOLUTION: This drill - chisel hammer is provided with a drive motor disposed in a casing 10 and can drive an insertion tool disposed in a tool retainer body by a drive motor via driving mechanism. The drill - chisel hammer is provided with an overrun clutch 16, and the overrun clutch 16 is interposed between the drive motor and an output shaft 12 in a power flowing passage of a rotation drive by a lock element 18. The output shaft 12 can be released from the connection with the drive motor in the driving force by a switch 14 and fixable in the rotary direction and the overrun clutch 16 is incorporated in the switch 14.
