PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance image quality at the peripheral end part. SOLUTION: Since an outermost dummy ink chamber 11aD is filled with ink, identical stresses Fi and Fi are applied from dummy ink chambers 11aD and 11aB to each barrier wall 11b of an ink chamber 11a. Similarly, an identical stress is applied to each barrier wall 11b of the ink chamber 11a when an ink chamber 11aA contracts. In other words, each barrier wall 11b of one inner ink chamber 11aA is applied with stresses from the opposite adjacent ink chambers similarly to other ink chambers. Consequently, ink ejection characteristics of all inner ink chambers are matched and each ink chamber can be subjected to drive control under the same conditions. As a result, uniform quality can be sustained from the central part to the peripheral end part of an image formed on a recording medium.
