PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of effectively reducing its weight without degrading the performance of the tire. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire provided with a carcass layer 4 between a pair of right and left beads 3, 3, the carcass layer 4 is disposed so as to face an inner space S of the tire. An air penetration preventing layer 8 is provided across between the pair of right and left beads 3, 3, on the outside of the carcass layer 4.
