PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb earthquake energy by plastic deformation of a vibration damping joint. SOLUTION: The vibration damping joints are attached to front and rear columns in the direction of short side of the vibration damping rack. This joint allows upward travel of a column member on an upper side by the plastic deformation of the joint. A brace in the direction of long side of the vibration damping rack is connected with the ringlike plastically-deformable vibration damping joint.
