PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head capable of high quality recording, and its easy manufacturing method, in which no ink drop is left around an ejection opening while adhering thereto on the orifice face of the ink jet recording head even if water repellency is deteriorated on the periphery of the ejection opening by means of a wiper. SOLUTION: An orifice plate is provided with grooves for releasing ink drops and sticking matters thereof. In order to make a deep groove, it is made at a part forming the outer wall of an ink channel between ejection openings. The grooves are made collectively using photolithography in the process for forming the ejection openings.
