PURPOSE:To improve a cushioning effect on a packaged body by a method wherein a pair of cushioning material bodies made of a plastic foam and provided with recessed parts and the like for enclosing the peripheral surface of the packaged body are used in combination with a plurality of reinforcing pieces made of a material different from that of both the cushioning material bodies and provided in the fitting grooves and the like. CONSTITUTION:A cushioning material is used for transporting and storing an industrial sewing machine or the like and, for example, contained in an A-type corrugated outer case. Namely, the cushioning material holds an article by first and second cushioning material bodies 10, 20 holding the side faces of the article and a plurality of reinforcing pieces provided in the through holes, fitting grooves, and the like of the bodies 10, 20 and is contained inside the outer case 30. A bottom plate 31 is provided on the bottom surface of the outer case 30. An auxiliary box 32 for containing accessories and the like is set on the upper surfaces of the cushioning material bodies 10, 20. The reinforcing pieces are each formed by plastic foam molding at an expansion ratio lower than that of the cushioning material bodies 10, 20 having an expansion ratio of 50-60. Furthermore, the reinforcing pieces are each formed by a laminate of double-sided corrugated fibreboards. |
