ATM CELL HEADER STRUCTURE FOR IMPROVING CONTROL OF CONGESTION

PURPOSE: An ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) cell header structure for improving the control of congestion is provided to determine whether a call is discarded and effectively control the control of the congestion. CONSTITUTION: A CLP(Cell Loss Priority) is assigned as 2 or more constant with n bits, and a call discard rank is classified as maximum 2¬n stages when controlling ATM congestion. The number of decrease bit of a VCI(Virtual Connection Identifier) is set as the number of increase bit of the CLP within a range for securing a connection line necessary for performing the performance of the VCI.
