Composition for the transfection of higher eukaryotic cells with a complex of nucleic acid and substance which has affinity for nucleic acids and is optionally conjugated with an internalisation factor for these cells. The composition contains an endosomolytic agent which is either a free or a bound virus or a virus component or a viral or non-viral peptide with endosomolytic properties.
