PURPOSE: A gob forming system for cathode ray tube is provided to adjust elevating height of needle even upon occurrence of power outage. CONSTITUTION: A gob forming system comprises a bowl disposed onto a lower mold, and which accommodates molten glass; a needle(27) disposed within the bowl, and which provides the gob to the lower mold; a servo motor(36); a transmission unit(37) coupled to the servo motor, and which converts rotating motion of the servo motor into a linear motion; an elevating slider(44) an end of which is coupled to the transmission unit and the other end of which is coupled to the needle, wherein the elevating slider elevates along with the needle; an auxiliary power supply(43) for supplying auxiliary power to the servo motor; an operating unit for adjusting elevating height of the needle, in accordance with the power applied to the servo motor from the auxiliary power supply unit; and a control unit for controlling operation of the servo motor, in accordance with the signal output from the operating unit.
