PURPOSE: Provided is a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having excellent charge and discharge characteristics, particularly at a low temperature, showing satisfactory charge and discharge characteristics even after being exposed to a high temperature over a period of time. CONSTITUTION: The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The non-aqueous electrolyte comprises a non-aqueous solvent and a solute dissolved in said non-aqueous solvent. And the non-aqueous solvent comprises (A) a cyclic carboxylic acid ester; (B) a cyclic carbonic acid ester having at least one carbon-carbon unsaturated bond; and (C) a cyclic carbonic acid ester having no carbon-carbon unsaturated bond. The cyclic carboxylic acid ester (A) is at least one selected from the group consisting of £gamma|-butyrolactone and a derivative of £gamma|-butyrolactone represented by the formula (1)(wherein R1 to R6 are, independently, a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or an acetyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms). |
