PURPOSE: A security system and method for a data communication network are provided to interrupt the internal and external access, hacking and virus with a hardware by deciding the passage of a packet before the packet arrives to a terminal of a client or a server side. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a multilevel access control module(102) assigning the differential system authority according to the grade of the user before the packet arrives to the terminal, a hacking interrupting module(103) deciding whether the packet is the hacking or not, and a virus interrupting module(104) deciding whether the packet is the virus or not. The multilevel access control module controls the system access of the user by searching the matching contents inputted from a multilevel access control database(105) and an authentication pattern. The hacking interrupting module decides the abnormal access by searching the matching contents inputted from a hacking information database(106). The virus interrupting module decides the abnormal access by searching the matching contents inputted from a virus information database(107).
