OPTICAL FIBER DRAWING DEVICE FOR NON-CONTACT TYPE OPTICAL FIBER POLARIZATION MODE DISPERSION CONTROL

PURPOSE: An optical fiber drawing device for non-contact type optical fiber polarization mode dispersion(PMD) control is provided, which controls the optical fiber polarization mode dispersion in a non-contact type. CONSTITUTION: According to a furnace(30) supplying a heat to an optical fiber preform uniformly which is installed on an optical fiber draw tower, the device comprises a main body(20) and a sub body(22) which is located on the same axis as the main body and has a smaller diameter than the main body. At least more than one slit is comprised in the inside of the upper part of the main body along a lengthy direction of the optical fiber, and a top gas supply part(24) includes the first hollow type rotator comprising at least one open aperture. The supplied gas causes an optical fiber polarization artificially/periodically in a non-contact type as to the first hollow type rotator.
