PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regenerate low-carbon rare earth magnet materials by removing resins from scrapped Nd-Fe-B rare earth bond magnets. SOLUTION: The method comprises a step of pulverizing rare earth bond magnets into grains of 2 mm or less, heating the grains at 900-1200 deg.C in the air to remove resins, heating and reducing the oxidated grains with a reducing agent of metal calcium in an inert gas atmosphere to deoxidate them, washing them with pure water to remove the resins, recovering resulting magnet alloys and dissolving, and solidifying them in an inert gas atmosphere to more remove calcium, thus obtaining a regenerated low-carbon, low-oxygen rare earth magnet material containing little Ca causing magnets to corrode. |
