摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in increasing the capacity of a packet communication device, that even though the buffer amount at a switch core part or an output buffer part needs to be increased, this results in increase in the scale of a circuit. SOLUTION: Line processing parts monitor a line utilization factor of an input line, and convert it into information, which is informed to other line process parts. A band allocation calculating part of each line processing part provides a band limitation to each input line, based on the band allocation information so that the amount of packets flowing into a single destination from all inputs of the switch core will not exceed the output through put of the switch core, thus no buffer of the switch core overflows, while a band is assured. Related to the switch core, the buffer amount for keeping and storing packets for only while the input band of packets is assured is required, resulting in a reduced line scale. Thus, a large-capacity packet switch is easily realized.</p>
