PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code checking device for easily and reliably inspecting that all printed bar codes are correctly printed. SOLUTION: This bar code checking device is provided with a feeding device 10 for feeding a label tape 15 on which labels are arranged with prescribed intervals, a picture inputting device 20 for inputting a bar code recorded on the label tape 15 as a picture, and a checking part 30 for checking the bar code by performing processing to the input picture inputted with the picture inputting device. When any dirt or misprint is detected in the bar code as the checked result of the checking part 30, it is judged that the bar code is defective.
