PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an answering telephone capable of automatically hearing and recording what a telephone caller wants. SOLUTION: A response DB 6 is provided for storing a plurality of previously defined corresponding pattern data and a voice synthesizer circuit 7 retrieves the response DB 6 to acquire corresponding response pattern data, based on voice data received by a line interface 2 and recognized by a voice recognizer 3, generates adequate answer data abut the voice contents of a telephone caller, records them as voice signals in a recorder 11 and transmits them to the caller at the originating side from the line interface 2. |
