PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photovoltaic power generation system by which peak cut operation can be effectively performed, capacity of a storage battery can be made smaller and the cost of the entire system can be reduced. SOLUTION: An inverter 4 is divided into some numbers which are connected in parallel so that the sum of the output may be equal to the output provided when operated by one unit. When power demand a commercial power supply system exceeds a predetermined value, a controller 7 gives instructions of the peak cut operation mode, then closes switches 81 to 8n sequentially in accordance with an excess of the power over the predetermined value, by which shortage of output power by a solar cell can be compensated by discharging the storage battery 6. Even if the output of the solar cell 5 is lower due to the solar radiation, only such power almost equal to that required peak cut can be supplied from the storage battery 6. |
