<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a client-server system in which the function of a GUI button provided on a client application can easily be changed. SOLUTION: The client application connects itself to a menu server present on a network and downloads information on a menu button. The button information includes a button ID unique to each button, the value of a parameter prescribing the function of the button, and a button image. The menu server distributes the information of a menu button matching each user by using user personal information which has already been gathered. The client application reads the button ID written in the menu information obtained from the menu server and compares it with button information stored in a storage area of the client computer to evade the repetitive downloading of the same button information.</p> |
